Cambi Casa d'Aste on June 10 presents the most beautiful glass of the first decades of the '900, from the famous European and American centers dedicated to the decorative arts, with names of the caliber of Émile Gallé, René Lalique, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Antonin Daum and many others. To mention just a few of the numerous and precious lots in the catalogue, a cameo glass lamp with an oval baluster foot with landscape decoration and a truncated cone-shaped hat with eagle decoration and brass frame certainly deserves mention. by Émile Gallé estimated at €1900 – €9.000. Produced by the master glassmaker from Nancy, we also point out a rare flask-shaped vase in blown crystal with bevelled foot, handles and neck decorated with a praying mantis and floral branches in relief enamel and gilding, around 10.000 (€1890 – €3.000). An important truncated conical vase in molded blown glass with relief decoration of jungle and tigers 4.000 ca. signed Paul d'Avesn, with a very interesting initial estimate of €1925 – €1.200. The production of a large conical blown glass cup with cameo floral decoration and applied foot (1.500 - 2.000 €), signed Schneider, Le Verre Français, and a rare table lamp in the form of a stairway in blown crystal metal mold and sculpture depicting pierrot (€2.500 – €2.500), produced by Sabino, also from around 3.000. Also very interesting is a small molded earthenware jug with a handle in the shape of a woman with polychrome enamel decoration from the historic and prestigious Zsolnay factory in Pécs, Hungary, with an interesting valuation of 1925 – 800 €.

While on June 11th we return to talking about antiques with a truly important catalogue, Engravings, Views, Papers and Rare Books. Catalog that also wanted to be a tribute to two giants of the history of Italian art on their respective anniversaries, 300 years from the birth of the great engraver Giovanni Battista Piranesi and 500 years from the death of the sublime Raffaello Sanzio. Before Covid-19 overwhelmingly overshadowed any other news, 2020 was supposed to be a year of great celebrations for two of the fathers of our art history. For the same reason, many exhibitions have been blocked or postponed, including Raffaello, the maxi exhibition of the Quirinale stables which will reopen on 2 June; the Perugian exhibition at the National Gallery of Umbria with Giovanni Battista Piranesi in the GNU collections, or the personal exhibition at the British Museum dedicated precisely to the prints of the great Venetian engraver. In this sense, Cambi also wanted to pay homage to these important artists: in fact, nineteen volumes of the engraved work will be sold at auction, containing a thousand etchings dated to the second half of the XNUMXth century by Giovanni Battista Piranesi. Coming from a private collection and purchased on the antiques market in the XNUMXs, the collection of tomes is particularly important for the wealth of etchings they contain, of immense artistic, historical and cultural value.

The homage to the great Urbino master of the auction house is instead expressed through the work of that small group of engravers with whom Raphael collaborated and to whom he entrusted the creation of prints from his own drawings and paintings. In fact, there are some of the most significant works by Marcantonio Raimondi, Agostino Veneziano, Marco Dente and the Maestro del Dado.

But not only Piranesi and Raphael. The catalog is dotted with important works offered to collectors from all over the world for their value such as the in-folio Collection of different views of the city of Genoa and its main parts and factories.. Genoa and Lucca, 1760-1770, by Antonio Giolfi – Giuseppe Torricelli, Gian Lorenzo Guidotti and Giuseppe Riviera o Nouveau theater d'Italie ou exact description of ses villes, palais, eglises, princely buildings, ect..Four volumes..A La Haye, Chez Rutgert Christophle Alberts, 1724. ( In Amsterdam, Par le soins de Pierre Mortier Libraire, 1704 for the fourth volume) by Johannes – Mortier, Pierre, Blaeu. Or again the Encyclopédie, ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts e des métiers. Livourne/Paris..1770-1779 by Diderot, D'Alembert and Le Ronde; as well as several prints by Albrecht Dürer, Martin Schongauer and Rembrandt to name a few.
