Nicotra Gebhardt, a company active at European level in the sector of mid-range centrifugal fans, based in Zingonia (Italy), has acquired 100% of Industrie CBI, operating in the same sector.

The group resulting from the acquisition will be one of the main global players, with revenues – according to the company – of approximately 200 million euros, 12 factories and more than 1000 employees worldwide. The group will offer the entire range of fans for both civil and industrial applications.

CBI, founded in 1963 by the Maveri family, based in Monza (Italy), is a European company specialized in the production of industrial fans and in the supply of related technical and maintenance services for various sectors including Oil and Gas, Energy and Infrastructure . CBI has a turnover of over 60 million euros, with more than 200 people employed in 5 offices located throughout the world.

Founded in 1957, NG is the result of the merger between the Italian Nicotra and the German Gebhardt. NG operates in the comfort air market, with 900 employees in seven production plants.

It is controlled by Ergon Capital Partners, a pan-European mid-cap investment firm backed by the Brussels Lambert Group (Belgium). Ergon has contributed to NG's international expansion since 2008, through organic growth and a series of acquisitions.

The operation was financed by GE Capital and Ares Capital, which provided financing for a total of 115 million euros. Ernst and Young (EY) acted as financial advisor to the Maveri family.
