What if the avant-gardes loved and collected by Peggy Guggenheim could always accompany us on our travels? It was born with this idea the travel mug designed by the Italian design collective Hangar Design Group and created by the Taiwanese brand ACERA. Dedicated to art movements of the 900s collected by the American patron, and made exclusively for i Museum Shops of Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Travel Mug is an object to take with you, intended for the consumption of both liquids and food, which sums up the love for art in an elegant and refined design. On the surface of the container, in enamel-decorated ceramic, screen-printed in metallic foil, the names of the artistic avant-gardes of the last century chase each other in a rapid rhythm where the typographic element transcends pure decoration to define the sense of an experience.
Through the contamination between seemingly distant inspirations, such as XNUMXth-century American art, the craft techniques of the best Taiwan ceramics, with which the object is made, and European design, an ideal synthesis of transversal aesthetic ideas is achieved. There travel mug therefore it becomes a functional and elegant object for those who love to travel and live the idea of travel as a multicultural experience.
FIRST Art - We ask the manager Roque Luna (Manager of Retail Operations at a museum of modern art) something about the reason for this object.
Roque Luna – the choice of an object suitable for travelers comes from the fact that our visitors are all travellers, many of whom are foreigners, for this reason we have thought of something that could be really useful, a mug, better if “travel” therefore with of the ideal technical characteristics to contain food at the ideal temperature and not only that it brings with it all the avant-garde movements that we host in the collection. Consider that last year we had 380 visitors here in Venice, so it was important to create a beautiful but also useful object.
With the same care we have taken care of the packaging, refined and at the same time it can seem like an object that contains another object.

Roque Luna – Why not…the object was created in black and white in a limited edition of 300 copies per color and is sold directly in the Venice museum shop (€85,00) or can be requested directly via email: shop@guggenheim-venice.it .
To date we can say that we are satisfied, the Travel Mug arouses curiosity and interest as you leave Venice with the hope of returning soon for other occasions that the Peggy Guggenheim Foundation Venice constantly organizes throughout the year.
