La digital revolution continues in the press, but traditional newspapers are defending themselves with digital editions. A year ago, according to the US Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), 8,7% of the newspapers were read in digital form. In one year, this percentage jumped to 14,2%, one newspaper out of seven.

The new ABC detection system extends to digital readouts, both on PCs and tablets or smartphones, and provides a more accurate guide to the value of advertising investments. America's best-selling newspaper is the Wall Street Journal, with both print and digital 'circulation' of 2,11 million, more than 500.000 of which are digital.

Ma the newspaper that increased the most (using the new more comprehensive calculation) the circulation (total) is the New York Times, with a +76%: and for the first time the digital version, at 807026, surpassed the printed version: 779731. And the New York Times remains the most read Sunday newspaper in America: more than 2 million copies, including 737 digital ones.
