A new strategic plan to replace the one recently launched and new measures to strengthen capital. These are the first two moves announced by Jean Pierre Mustier, who yesterday was chosen as new CEO of Unicredit.
“It will be a pleasure to work closely with the Board of Directors and with the people of Unicredit – said the French manager – to develop and implement a new strategic plan. The fundamental objectives must be the strengthening of capital requirements and the growth of economic results through an increasingly close relationship with customers and with a very careful and disciplined risk culture".
In this way, according to Mustier, the Bank will be able to "ensure a constant creation of value which is in everyone's interest: the shareholders, the people who work at Unicredit, the numerous countries in which the bank operates".
In general, the banker considers it “a great honor to have been chosen to lead Unicredit in a crucial phase for the bank. The banking sector is going through a phase of rapid transformation and needs to consolidate new models to respond positively to the needs of all stakeholders, also in the future".
Unicredit is “a leading bank in Europe with solid roots in Italy – concluded the new CEO -. It can count on a very large number of clients and high-level professional resources in each of our offices and branches. With everyone's commitment we will be able to respond to the challenges we face today with quality and enthusiasm”.
