Unicredit, Aabar fund new majority shareholder with 6,5%

The capital increase has brought great news to Piazza Cordusio. Unicredit has a new majority shareholder: it is Aabar, the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi, which last February 14th had the 6,501% of the capital. The figure emerged from the latest Consob notices on significant shareholdings.

Among the other changes in the shareholdings in Unicredit, three repositionings appear particularly significant: the American fund Capital Research and Management fell from 5,406% to 2,732%, la Crt Foundation rose from 3,163% to 3,856% (of which 0,51% without the right to vote), while the package held by Mediobanca was diluted to 1,783%. Cariverona has already declared that it will dilute to 3,5% as a result of a partial subscription. For the same reason, the Manodori Foundation is at 0,5%.

Allianz and Carimonte have announced the subscription and therefore should remain respectively around 2% and just under 3%. However, the particularly high amount of the latest capital increase (7,5 billion euro) could also have led to the entry of new shareholders with stakes exceeding 2%.
