EU, Schaueble: S&P's judgment is a stimulus for Europe

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaueble commented on Standard & Poors' decision to put the ratings of 15 European countries (including Germany) under observation as "the best possible stimulus" ahead of the Eurosummit to be held on Thursday and Friday.

According to Schaueble, in fact, these pressures should induce European leaders to accelerate the implementation of reforms. Furthermore, he added that the "European model" is by no means on the way out, but rather, if it plays its cards right, the European Union will be able to come out even strengthened from this difficult period.
