EU: Olli Rehn, Ireland and Spain are on track to exit the aid plan

Ireland and Spain are about to move from the bailout phase (which saw huge aid for the two countries) to the phase of full return of financing through the market. European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Olli Rehn told reporters, but it is too early to understand if they will need support to make the transition.

EU: Olli Rehn, Ireland and Spain are on track to exit the aid plan

“Ireland and Spain have a good chance to wrap up their aid plan quickly.” This is supported by the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Olli Rehn.

In fact, Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny said on Saturday that Ireland would exit its 85 billion euro bailout plan by mid-December. As far as Spain is concerned, European sources let it be known that a definitive agreement has not yet been found, at the moment there is only a kind of "tacit agreement".

However, it is not clear whether the two countries will need support to move safely from the bailout phase to the phase of full return of financing through the market (for Spain it would be only the banks). "It's too early to tell," said Olli Rehn.
