EU, Brexit: London opens the procedure on 29 March

La Brexit will start on March 29th. To make it known is Downing Street. Indeed, the British ambassador in Brussels, Sir Tim Barrow, would have informed the office of the President of the European Council Donald Tusk of the date chosen by Prime Minister Theresa May for sending the letter invoking the application of Article 50 for the United Kingdom's exit from the EU.

After the official notification to the EU through this letter, a two-year negotiation will begin, defined by Brexit Minister David Davis as "the most important negotiation for the United Kingdom in a generation".

The news was also confirmed by the spokesman of the EU Commission, Margaritis Schinas, who confirmed that the executive "was informed in advance" by the British government of the intention to send the letter on 29 March. The EU is therefore ready to begin negotiations, for which the Commission will publish its recommendations. After that, Donald Tusk will convene an extraordinary summit to formalize the negotiating mandate for Michel Barnier.
