The series of reflections that on this occasion Cesare Colombo shares with the audience at the Milan Triennale, prompted in the dialogue by Giovanna Calvenzi, is entitled "The eye as a profession": a choice that recalls the book of the same name that Colombo himself published, in 1970, in four hands with Gianni Berengo Gardin.
A very important volume to broaden the debate from pure and simple photography to the multiple and articulated declinations that the discipline has taken on in what we fully define the society of the image; a concept that strongly reaffirms its extraordinary modernity, even more so today, in the face of the democratization of the production and use of the photographs themselves.
Photographer and photo-editor, but also advertising and communication expert: during his very long career Colombo has covered different roles, making himself one of the most authoritative witnesses of the evolution of the image supply chain; a transversal commitment, his, which therefore brings him closer to Calvenzi, herself a photo-editor, teacher and curator, a great theorist of contemporary photography.
The meetings at the Milan Triennale, all with free admission (subject to availability), will continue on Thursday 4 June with Fabio Bucciarelli and Stefano Citati (Photojournalism today: the classical and digital legacy), Thursday 18 June with Gabriele Croppi and Mariateresa Cerretelli (The metaphysics of the urban landscape), on Thursday 2 July with Gian Paolo Barbieri and Maurizio Rebuzzini (Natural elegance), and will close on Thursday 16 July with Giovanni Gastel and Giuseppe Di Piazza (The rebirth of photography).

The Lectio magistralis initiative on photography and its surroundings is promoted by AFIP International and CNA Professioni, carried out in collaboration with the Milan Triennale, the Maxxi – National Museum of XII Century Arts in Rome, GRIN (National Iconographic Editors Group), Milano Photofestival and with contributions from Epson, Canon, Nikon.
In addition to this, the activity of AFIP International takes the form of a series of events, such as conferences, exhibitions and a blog (http://afiponline.blogspot.it) where the most interesting events will be reported and the topics and topics related to photography and the profession.
AFIP was founded in 1960 by a group of photographers and sees among the first associates Aldo Ballo, Davide Clari, Giancolombo, Mario Dainesi, Gianni Della Valle, Luciano Ferri, Gian Greguoli, Edoardo Mari, Paolo Monti, Alfredo Pratelli, Italo Pozzi, Gian Sinigaglia, Fedele Toscani and Roberto Zabban, with the aim of technically and culturally renewing the profession of photography, defending the free profession, addressing above all industrial and advertising production, fashion and publishing.
