Air strike on Friday 29 September: which flights are at risk?

After the unrest of September 8th, a new strike is coming this Friday: flights at risk up to 24 hours. It is promoted by the trade unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uilt Uil, Cub, Flai, Usb, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Trasporto Aereo in the airport ground services sector. In detail:

  • for 24 hours, from 00.01 to 23.59 the following day, the staff of the air transport companies in the Handlers sector will go on strike;
  • for 4 hours, from 13pm to 17pm, the EasyJet Airline Company Limited staff stops. The low-cost airline therefore invited passengers to check the status of their flight before going to the airport. This is on the official website, exactly in the "booking management" or "flight info" section;
  • for half a shift, for each work shift, the staff of the companies in the railway contracting sector of the FSI group (Ferrovie dello Stato) also go on strike "for the economic adjustment of the meal voucher with the recognition of the maximum tax-exempt amount as provided for by the Law of Budget 2020”;
  • for 24 hours, from 00.01 to 23.59 the following day, the workers of the airport services companies also declared strike, together with the entire aviation and airport sector, in addition to the airport handling companies.

The agitation will take place according to specific methods at local level, always respecting the guarantee bands: services guaranteed from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.

The National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) communicated the list of guaranteed flights during the strike day.

Air strike on Friday: 73 Ita domestic flights cancelled

Among the airlines in addition to EasyJet, inconveniences, delays and cancellations are also guaranteed for passengers Italy Airways. “The Company was forced to cancel 73 domestic flights, of which 68 are scheduled for September 29, 2023.
