Based on the agreements with Dazn and Mediaset Infinity, Tim launches a new offer of timvision with the best of national and international football and opens a new line of business, but on the balance sheet the fruits in terms of higher revenues and higher profits will be seen next year, while now we need to spend the investments. It is in this key that the quarterly and the entire first half of 2021 that the telephone company's board of directors approved last night should be read.

in first six months of the year i revenues of the group have returned to growth - reports an official note from the company - reaching 7,6 billion euros (+0,5% YoY and +1% in the second quarter) and so also revenues from domestic fixed lines (+1,5, 6,6% YoY). Brazil, the primary source of revenues and profits for the telephone company chaired by Salvatore Rossi and led by Luigi Gubitosi, is also growing: +10,5% YoY of revenues in the six months and +XNUMX% in the second quarter.

But it goes down there profitability with a drop of 3,7% YoY in organic Ebitda which stands at 3,2 billion in the half year (also affected by the deconsolidation of Inwit and non-recurring items) while cash generation is in line with plan objectives . The net result in the second quarter of 2021 amounts to 0,1 billion euros and 0,2 billion in the half year “excluding the impact of non-recurring items.

The file remains open single network, on which the Government declares itself neutral, and which will therefore depend on the confrontation between Tim and the new heads of Cassa depositi e prestiti led by Dario Scannapieco who is present in both Tim and Open Fiber and will therefore have to decide on the matter.

Green light to watch the Serie A football championship on Tim and Dazn. The Competition and Market Authority has concluded the precautionary procedure relating to some clauses of the agreement between the two companies for the viewing of Serie A football championship matches in the three-year period 2021-2024. According to the Antitrust, in the light of the measures presented by the two operators, at present there are no elements to intervene.

Taken as a whole, these measures aim – specifies a press release from the Authority released in the morning – at avoid possible discrimination in the use of the Dazn service attributable to the activation of the service by users who use internet connection services other than those offered by Tim. In particular, from 1 August it will be possible to have Dazn content with TimVision without having to sign up for a subscription with Tim. In addition, Dazn has undertaken to provide services for viewing matches on digital terrestrial in case of connection problems.

More generally, Dazn - which owns the rights to view all the matches in the Serie A football championship - has guaranteed the use of the service to all users who have installed the Dazn App, regardless of the reference operatorthrough specific technical interconnection initiatives with network operators, implementing the necessary infrastructure investments.

For these reasons, the Antitrust has decided to close the precautionary proceeding, deeming that "the initiatives and amendments to the agreement by Tim and Dazn are suitable, at present, to prevent damage from occurring during the assessment procedure serious and irreparable for the competition". To ensure that consumers' full freedom of choice is respected, the AGCM "will continue to monitor the effective implementation of the proposed measures", concludes the press release.
