Tim improves Carbon Disclosure Project's (Cdp) climate change rating to B from B-

TIM still improves its position in the world ranking relative to Climate Change and confirms itself among the best companies with concrete initiatives to combat climate change.
The Group led by Peter Labriola was put in the 'B' list of the environmental organizationand Carbon Disclosure Project (Cdp) relating to Climate Change, improving on last year's performance (B-). 2022 companies took part in the 14.000 initiative and Tim has been part of it since 2010. “The result derives from the Group's attention to ESG objectives included in the Strategic Plan, which aim at reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable supplier engagement,” said a company statement.

Tim wants to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2030

The Group intends to achieve the Carbon Neutrality by 2030, reducing by 75% the emissions deriving from its production activity (Scope 1) and from the purchase of electricity (Scope 2), thanks to the use of exclusively renewable sources already by 2025. Furthermore, by 2030, TIM will reduce by 47% the emissions of its value chain (Scope 3) relating to the purchase of goods and services, capital goods and the use of products sold to customers. The achievement of net zero emissions by 2040 is also central.

Awards already received

TIM's recognitions in the most important international ESG financial indexes do not end there. Recently too SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) had credited Tim's environmental strategy. Furthermore, the company is present for the nineteenth consecutive year in the S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index and in 2022 it was confirmed among the sustainability leaders and the only telecommunications company in Italy.
In Moody's ESG Solutions ranking, ranks first among telecommunications companies in the 'advanced' segment, with an ESG performance above the sector average. TIM was also confirmed in the top list of companies evaluated by ecovadis, an international platform for assessing the corporate sustainability of the supply chain, and for inclusion and promotion of diversity policies is part of the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, in addition to Refinitiv Diversity & Inclusion Index which ranked TIM among the top 100 companies in the world and first in Italy and South America in the telecommunications sector.
