The offer of shares of the Italian Post Office, whose listing is confirmed for 2015, "will reserve significant shares for popular shareholders and specific privileges for employees". This was stated in a note from the Treasury, at the end of the meeting with the Ministry on the progress of Poste Italiane's listing on the stock exchange, in the presence of Minister Padoan and the company's CEO Francesco Caio, with the contribution of the Treasury Department , its consultants and the global coordinators of the operation. The statement suggests that the price level that will be asked of the market will be in a median range rather than medium-high.

During the meeting, the progress of all the preliminary operations was noted in full compliance with the roadmap, and therefore the objective of take the company public within the current year.

From the first contacts with investors, the note explains, it emerged that “the operation to list Poste Italiane benefits from a strong association with the season of reform, renewal and modernization of the country in which the Government is engaged. The operation is perceived as a symbol of the change taking place in the country". "The perfect harmony between the vision of the Government and that of the management - continues the Ministry - allows the top management to present the operation to the markets not only on the basis of recognized personal experience but also with the support of the convinced trust of the institutions".

During the meeting, Padoan and Caio focused on the role of the capillary offer of services and collection of savings that Poste Italiane has traditionally played in the country, and on the need to strengthen this role in the future also through the use of market tools and resources. The sustainability of the company's social role in the long term is one of the strategic objectives of the listing operation.
