Food at risk of extinction takes center stage at the Meeting for friendship among peoples which opens its doors on Saturday in Rimini in the international pavilion. In fact, the first 2021 exhibition of agri-food treasures at risk of extinction opens thanks to the commitment and work of Italian farmers during the Covid emergency which hit the food and wine tourism and catering which represent privileged outlet markets for national food specialities.
from Pump Sardinian to Tanned Roman, from cheese podolic al Provolone Cheese of the monk, from Carnia bean atwhite garlic of Vessalico, from raven corn al purgatory bean of Gradoli, from cooked wine al Bagoss, from Rendena cow cheese al Big lamp, are just some of the treasures on display at the Rimini Meeting. They are the Seals of a tricolor tradition that was born in the territories from north to south of the Peninsula and that tell the story, the resilience and the distinctiveness of a tradition at the table that represents a strong point of the Made in Italy: from which to restart.
As part of the event, the Ape car of Coldiretti will promote Italian food with peasant cooks and free tastings for guests of the pavilion, with a section also reserved for knowledge and tasting of olive oil together with the extra virgin olive oil sommeliers of the Coldiretti Evoschool. For the occasion, the exclusive Coldiretti report on "Summer 2021, between huts and cellars to forget Covid" will be released.
In the afternoon in Sala Generali B4 of the Meeting the President of Coldiretti Ettore Prandini e agnes kalibata, UN Secretary General's Special Envoy to the 2021 Food Systems Summit will speak as part of the "Food coalition" meeting, the challenge of nutrition in times of pandemic".
