Today one earthquake measuring 7,9 on the Richter scale shook the waters off the eastern coast of the Philippines, immediately triggering a tsunami warning, according to reports from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center and the US Geological Survey.
The epicenter of the earthquake is located at a depth of 32 kilometers, and at a distance of about 70 kilometers from the city of Guiuan, in the province of Samar, which should have suffered damages the extent of which is still unknown at the moment .
The GGovernment of the Philippines has ordered the evacuation of six coastal provinces, advising anyone near the coast to go to higher places. The tsunami warning was also issued in Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, plus various islands scattered across the Pacific Ocean, including Hawaii.
