Terna: profit up 24,6% in the first quarter

Terna closed the first quarter of the year with revenues of 470 million euros, up by 8,8% compared to the same period of 2012, and with a net profit of 142 million (+24,6%).

Terna closed the first quarter of the year with revenues of 470 million euros, an increase of 8,8% compared to the same period of 2012, and with a net profit of 142 million (+24,6%). Ebitda rose to 381 million (+12,1%), with the Ebitda margin improving to 81,1% (78,7% in the first quarter of 2012).

“The beginning of the year was good, despite the general international crisis – commented Flavio Cattaneo, CEO of Terna – These results allow us to commit ourselves more robustly to the two great challenges of the evolving electricity system: European integration with a central role for the interconnections of Italy and the continuous development of infrastructural investments in key areas of the country”.

After the quarterly data were released, in the meantime, Terna's stock gained 0,63% on the Stock Exchange in the late morning, to 3,508 euros per share.
