Terna and Luiss, partnership for the training of energy talents

A partnership to enhance the growth of the best talents in the world of energy through the recruitment and development of human capital. With this objective, the training project of Terna, the company that manages the Italian electricity transmission grid, and the Luiss University got underway. A collaboration presented by the CEO of Terna, Luigi Ferraris and the rector of the university, Paola Severino, which aims to create a virtuous path to unite businesses and the academic world, capable of fostering the development of the most suitable professionals today to face the market of work and to contribute to the necessary growth of the country. Two initiatives have been promoted by Terna together with Luiss: the “Future Project Leaders”, aimed at young talents already present in the company and the “International Training Program', intended for Engineering and/or Economics students from international universities.

With the first project, "Future Project Leaders" will be identified and directed towards specific training programs for young people, already present in Terna and future "Project CEOs". Luiss – through the Business School – will plan a challenging managerial path with Terna with the aim of offering future Project CEOs the opportunity to obtain certifications recognized worldwide. The second, the International Training Program, on the other hand, will allow Terna to choose every year some of the best Engineering and Economics students from non-European countries, in particular from South America (where Terna is building electricity infrastructure), to offer a high-level program that will allow young students to strengthen their leadership potential and acquire the new skills required by the energy market. Also in this case, Luiss will provide Terna with training support in the selection of local talent and will offer them an effective learning methodology. At the end of this first phase, the new graduates will have the opportunity to join the company.

For Terna's CEO and general manager Luigi Ferraris "the collaboration with Luiss stems from the awareness that investing in training and the inclusion of young people in the world of work represents a fundamental element in the process of generating value for the whole country" . The programs that will be launched will not only favor business development and the diffusion of the culture of innovation, but will also contribute to the creation of future professional skills of excellence in the energy sector"

The Rector of the Paola Severino University pointed out that "training talents around the world, through international programs that favor the growth and development of a future generation of professionals capable of interpreting and tackling the challenges of the global economy with success and foresight, is one of the objectives that our University has always pursued. With Terna, the issue of recruiting and developing human capital will materialize in an even more effective way, with cutting-edge educational programs and a very strong focus on sustainability”.
