The General Commander of the Guardia di Finanza Giuseppe Zafarana and the Chief Executive Officer of Terna, Stefano Donnarumma, signed a protocol in the San Matteo Hall of the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza which extends and strengthens the existing synergies between the national transmission network and the Guardia di Finanza. The agreement, by virtue of the positive experience gained between the parties over the years, expands collaborative activities in the areas proper to the economic-financial police and to protect the regularity and transparency of administrative procedures, for the supervision of strategic and functional infrastructures for the provision of essential public services.

In particular, through this new agreement, Terna undertakes to provide the Guardia di Finanza with data and news qualified as well as context analyzes useful for the pursuit of collaborative purposes, through direct consultation of its information system and for the autonomous developments of the Departments of the Corps. Furthermore, in order to guarantee the safety and continuity of operation of the strategic infrastructures managed by Terna, Terna will supply further technologically advanced devices for the needs of the Aeronaval and Alpine Rescue components of the Corps in consideration of the widespread distribution on the territory and the capacity to operate promptly even in contexts that are not easily and ordinarily accessible.

In fact, among the actions aimed at protecting the national electricity system is the monitoring of Terna's strategic sites and plants, with particular reference to those located in mountainous environments and to submarine cables and, in general, in the most impervious. The protocol also provides for photographic surveys of the strategic infrastructures with the air-naval vehicles supplied to the Guardia di Finanza and close collaboration between the parties during functional maintenance interventions to ensure continuity of service. Terna currently manages approximately 75.000 km of electricity network in high and very high voltage, 900 stations and over 700 transformers through 4 control centers in Italy.
