Terna: electricity grid operators gathered on energy transition at GO15 in Rome

He met in Rome for the traditional annual meeting on GO15 steering committee, the international association that brings together the main electricity transmission grid operators. The meeting was chaired Stefano Donnarumma, CEO of Terna. Many important topics were discussed, including the role of interconnections for an increasingly efficient and secure electricity system, the resilience of networks, the development of renewable sources and storage systems.

During the two days of work, the managing directors of some of the most important Transmission System Operator international companies, which overall manage around 50% of electricity transport globally, discussed the fundamental issues of energy transition and the safety of electrical systems. 

Among the participants in attendance, in addition to the CEO of Terna Donnarumma, also the managing director of the American Miso and that of the GCCIA, the company that manages the networks of the six states of the Persian Gulf. The other 12 representatives connected remotely, from Belgium to India, from South Korea to France and Brazil.

The GO15 delegation also had the opportunity to discuss the topics covered by the work also with the president of the Arera Stefano Besseghini, who illustrated the best practices of the Italian system to the participants.
