“We are open to collaborating with anyone to help build the backbone that is needed in the country”. This was stated by the managing director of Telecom Italia, Amos Genish, commenting on the hypothesis of a collaboration with the competitor Open Fiber.

Collaboration Yes, but there's no question of fusion. Responding to a question asked by a journalist, Genish declared that "It is not today's topic - he commented - We are open to collaborations regarding applications, products and investments".

The CEO also spoke about the golden power, categorically denying the rumors of Telecom Italia's intention to present an appeal against the special powers: “Don't believe what you read in the newspapers – he declared – we are in full collaboration with the government regarding the implementation of the golden power. There is a team working on both sides to understand the implementation of the correctives”.

The number one of the Tlc company then confirmed that “we have every intention of comply with the golden power guidelines. It is a decision based on national security and the evolution of the essential services that serve the country. I think it's a basic obligation for Tim." Finally, Genish said: “There is a lot that needs to be outlined and we are on the right track. We are well directed in the discussion to implement the correctives”.

Finally, a hint also to the future, a future in which, Tim intends to play the role of Digital Company more and more: “”In the next industrial plan – said Genish – Telecom will be a very innovative company. Looking to the future it will be a Digital Player and no longer a Telecom Player”.

The plan, based on what the manager indicated today, will be presented between the end of February and the beginning of March. New arrivals also on the investment front: “Wait the business plan which will be presented at the end of Februarybeginning of March, in which the investment cycle will be presented.

However, according to the CEO, the focus shouldn't be how much, but what and where: "In the past we invested in legacy networks, but in the future we will focus on technology and invest in technology".

"The change - he concluded - will be where to concentrate investments and this will bring better results for customers and for the country".
