Telecom shines on the Stock Exchange, the government studies the unbundling of the network

Telecom Italia returns to the top of the Ftse Mib (+0,4%) and continues a three-day rise that began after the publication of the semesterwhich took place on July 25th.

Halfway through the session, the stock was up 4,5% to 0,653 euros, also benefiting from the effervescence that is characterizing the entire TLC sector today: the sector's Eurostoxx marks +2%, while the FTSE Italia Telecomunicazioni even rises by 4,12%.

The shares of the giant led by Amos Genish therefore take the path of recovery after months of great difficulties on the stock market due to the internal fight over governance between Elliott and Vivendì. The mini-rally of the last few days has reported a positive monthly performance (+1,85%), even if extending the time horizon the minus sign still prevails: – 9,62% in the last six months, -24,85% in the last year.

According to analysts, the stock would be undervalued compared to its competitors, with Equita looking favorably on the opening of the Minister of Economic Development, Luigi Di Maio, on the unbundling of the network: "The minister's comments - explains Equita - highlight in our opinion how the network and Ubb (ultra broadband) is a priority of the Government, after an interlocutory phase caused by the change of Government".

On July 26, Di Maio announced the launch of an investigation on the unbundling of the Telecom Italia fixed network.

According to Mediobanca, the separation of the network could lead to a possible cooperation or a possible consolidation with Open Fiber. Analysts then recall that, taking into account that the copper network is worth at least 15 billion, the discount compared to competitors rises above 55% .
