The decision on access tariffs to the Telecom network rests with the national authority. To say it is the commissioner of Agcom Antonio Preto, responding to the recommendations of the EU Commission, which had contested the choices of the Italian regulator.
“The final decision – these are his words – belongs to the national authority, the institutional set-up provides for it. Furthermore, Berec also supported our position on tariffs". Brussels had asked the Italian authority to review the prices established for 2013, which would lead to an excessive reduction in tariffs.
