Sparkle 2023: the best bubbles of the year take center stage at the Parco dei Principi in Rome

Starting from 14.00, at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel & Spa the companies that have conquered the coveted "5 spheres" will be revealed. The prestigious award rewards 89 labels among the 860 present in the guide, practically the elite of sparkling wine production in the Bel Paese.

Lombardy takes the podium for the number of awarded labels, followed by Trentino and Veneto

The region on the first step of the podium for number of awarded labels is Lombardy, thanks to the 28 awards received, 23 belonging to the Franciacorta DOCG denomination and 5 to the Oltrepò Pavese area; Trentino follows at 22 with only Trento DOC; 19 awards for the Veneto, all Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, except for a Lessini Durello; then Piedmont (7), Alto Adige (5), Puglia (2), Abruzzo (2), Lazio (2) and, with a cellar, Valle d'Aosta and Umbria. “The conclusion of the work of the twenty-first edition of our guide prompts, as always, reflection on the balance sheet of a season. After more than fifteen hundred tastings – he underlines Francesco D'Agostino, Director of Cucina&Vini – the most effective synthesis is carried out at the moment of the final tasting, when the best expressions of the country meet and we define the 5 spheres.
