Spain, 5 million unemployed

La unemployment starts climbing again Spain. After the slight decline in December, in January the number of jobless rose to 4,98 million, 135 more than the previous month (+2,72%). This was announced by the Ministry of Employment of Madrid.

In the last year, the unemployed increased by 380.949 units, reaching a total of 4.980.778. A dramatic figure, but still better than the one recorded in January 2012, when there were 177 more unemployed.

In any case, the ministry's data are different from those published every three months by the National Institute of Statistics (Ine, the Spanish Istat), which uses a different calculation method, usually used as a reference. According to INE, in fact, at the end of December unemployment reached a record rate of 26,02%.
