Enel X makes the World Trade Center and San Vincenzo towers sustainable. The two iconic buildings of Genoa are symbols of commerce and business, a reference point for medium and large companies and the Torre San Vincenzo has also been the Genoese headquarters of Confindustria since 2005, which occupies about a third of the building. The energy requalification interventions will reduce energy consumption by 40%, but also reduce CO2 emissions.
In particular, the interventions carried out by the company belonging to the Enel Group envisage the energy improvement of buildings through the replacement of methane gas heat generators with high efficiency air/water heat pumps.
We proceeded with the replacement of the pre-existing methane gas boilers with a heat pump with a power of 2 MW in the case of Torre San Vincenzo and with 2 heat pumps of 950 kWt and 900kWf each, in addition to the removal of existing refrigeration units, in the WTC complex.
Furthermore, the San Vincenzo Tower benefited from the “Thermal 2.0 Count”, which finances the conversion of thermal plants to fossil fuel, reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, thanks to the use of electricity.
While, the WTC complex was able to access theEcobonus, which allows for the recovery of 65% of the expenses incurred for energy improvement measures, and through the tax credit transferred to Enel X, as part of the “Vivi Meglio” offer, it took advantage of the tax deduction.

The electrification of the two iconic complexes represents a pilot project which envisaged the replacement of the pre-existing methane gas boilers with heat pump systems which, in addition to reducing consumption by around 40%, make it possible to reduce CO2 emissions. A sustainable intervention from an environmental and economic point of view that makes the concept of Sustainable City concrete".

The intervention proved to be a success from a technical and economic point of view, in fact the return on investment, thanks to the Ecobonus subsidies, took place in just over three years and the savings were higher than expected. An advantage for condominiums and for the environment with the reduction of fine dust emissions into the atmosphere.”
