The company led by Gianfilippo Mancini is also entering the ultra-fast internet connection market, with the Next Fiber offer: a single supplier for energy and fiber, and an Energy Lab capable of measuring the consumption of home appliances.

Sorgenia chooses Open Fiber for ultra-fast fiber

Sorgenia enters the game of the Internet and is a candidate to be a new player able to offer energy and connection together, with an eye to sustainability: in fact, starting today, thanks to the collaboration with Open Fiber, customers of the company led by Gianfilippo Mancini will be able to request there FTTH connectivity (Fiber To The Home) and thus have very high navigation performance, not comparable to those of copper or mixed fiber-copper networks. The choice, explains a note, is consistent with the values of attention to the environment e  innovation “which Sorgenia has always promoted”.

In fact, today the fiber is considered a “future-proof” technology: not only does it have a very low environmental impact but it contributes to making digital services increasingly accessible, reducing waste and spreading a green culture. The choice of technological partner almost naturally fell on Open Fiber because it builds ultra-broadband network infrastructures only in optical fibre, which allows browsing at 1 gigabit per second, and aims to ensure capillary coverage of the cities and of the whole Italian territory in a few years.

“The decision to offer ultra-fast internet – he commented the CEO of Sorgenia Gianfilippo Mancini – is in line with our commitment to develop digital and environmentally conscious solutions. We have chosen the best technology that exists today and shared the goal of bringing ultra-broadband into Italian homes with our partner Open Fiber. Sorgenia customers will now be able to manage energy and fiber through a single app, and have the world just a click away”.

“The agreement with Sorgenia – he added Elisabetta Ripa, CEO of Open Fiber – confirms the validity of the great work that Open Fiber is carrying out throughout the country. It is an important step because thanks to our Open Internet offer we are able to open up the market to new players allowing us to sell internet connection to the end customer using the FTTH network and the technological infrastructure that we make available. This commercial initiative confirms and fully exploits the neutral nature of Open Fiber, which guarantees everyone equal access to its network".

The new offer from Sorgenia is called Next Fiber and includes, among other things, a Energy Lab within the app, which allows you to make a energy expenditure checkup, breaking down electricity consumption for each appliance and giving suggestions on how to save money and reduce your carbon footprint. The service is based on AI algorithms that acquire data directly from the latest generation meters.
