Snam: quarterly profit soars after Robin Hood Tax stop

Revenues are also good, but not the EBITDA – Debt drops – The stock rises against the trend in Piazza Affari.

Snam Rete Gas archive the first quarter with net profits for 325 million euros (+11,3% on the year) and a gross operating margin at 717 million (-2%). As for the revenues, grew by 2,4% to 929 million, while thenet financial debt as at 31 March it was down to 13,217 billion euro, from 13,652 billion at the end of December.

"We are moving in line with the path outlined in the strategic plan - commented the CEO of Snam, Carlo Malacarne – to guarantee our shareholders profitable and remunerative growth through targeted investments and the usual attention to operational efficiency and financial discipline while maintaining a solid capital structure".

The increase in profits, explains the company in a statement, is mainly due to the reduction in income taxes linked to the declaration of constitutional illegitimacy of the Robin Hood Tax. Always between January and March, the gas introduced into the network transport amounted to 15,98 billion cubic meters (-1,9%).

Opening today Snam stock on the Stock Exchange earns 1,3%, a 4,726 euros, achieving one of the best increases in the Ftse Mib, which in the same minutes travels in the red by 0,5%.
