The tax delegation has been postponed by 6 months. Casero: "Long times for decrees"

The expiration date has been postponed by six months tax delegation. In fact, the Government will ask for an extension of the deadline, initially scheduled for 27 March. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy Luigi Casero, in a hearing before the Finance Commission of the Chamber, judging the extension "indispensable". “We believe that six months – Casero explained – could be the time necessary to arrive at the final approval of the tax delegation; in these six months, the government will present a series of decrees, three months before the deadline”. The deputy minister then explained that the government "wants to resume the spirit of the delegation and the first decrees, approved with an extensive debate by the Commissions, whose opinions have been received". In short, with the first decrees, "the long periods of legislative timescales" were respected. Leaving aside the March 27 deadline, however, "it would not have been possible to approve the decrees with a minimum parliamentary debate and we - he reiterated - believe that the debate should indeed be broad". According to the deputy minister, the request for 3 + 3 can therefore address "the need to issue regulations to the country within the year and at the same time to respect the parliamentary debate".

Casero also announced the postponement of the decree on tax crimes, postponed to a later date than February 20 initially set by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, and therefore probably in May. The decree, already approved on 24 December last, establishes the non-punishment for those who evade under 3 percent of the taxable amount declared (rule renamed “Salva-Berlusconi”). There have been numerous controversies in recent weeks, which have therefore prompted the government to withdraw it to study some modifications. However, the times seem to be longer than expected. At the end of the month, the provisions concerning businesses, the attraction of capital, with the reform of the international ruling, and games should arrive. While in the next tranche it will be the turn of the legislative decrees on disputes, assessments and sanctions.
