Tomorrow, Finmeccanica's board of directors will appoint the CEO of Ansaldo Sts, Sergio De Luca, as the group's new general manager. De Luca will inherit the functions of director currently exercised by Alessandro Pansa who will thus be able to concentrate on his role as managing director.
Always close to Pansa himself, De Luca is the architect of the successes of that jewel of technology that is Ansaldo Sts and his promotion suggests that the sale of Ansaldo Sts - for which General Electric is in pole position as an alternative or coupled with the Strategic Fund – is getting closer. Pansa, who had worked with him at Ansaldo Sts, immediately wanted him with him but his appointment is also appreciated by the Minister of the Treasury Fabrizio Saccomanni
