Sharm is empty: 8 promotional flights by Preatoni

Ernesto Preatoni, the owner of the It dominates Coral Bay Resort, one of the main foreign investors in Sharm El-Sheikh, has undertaken a new striking initiative to relaunch Italian tourism on the Red Sea, which is in a very serious crisis. The news comes from Egypt, from the columns of the Daily News Egypt, an English-language Egyptian media, which recalls how Preatoni has "already played a leading role in promoting the tourist city of Sharm, bringing nearly half a million tourists every year Italians, flow today down to only 11.000 presences”.

“The inventor of Sharm El-Sheikh, as they call him in Italy – continues the Egyptian newspaper – has a recovery plan ready for a destination that is on the verge of becoming deserted”. The idea is to promote, already from 2 October and until 28 November, eight flights from Italy bringing, at Preatoni's own expense, tourists, investors, journalists, the press and politicians, to spend a holiday in Sharm El-Sheikh. “The largest privately funded promotion campaign in the history of Sharm El-Sheikh,” reports Daily News Egypt.

"Our goal is not only to direct regular tourists to Sharm, but also to attract the rich to the destination", Preatoni explained in the columns of the Egyptian newspaper, adding that "the purpose of the initiative is to invite wealthy Italians who are known for their love of travel.”

The initiative was received "very positively" by General Khaled Fouda, the governor of South Sinai, who met Preatoni and confirmed that will work to overcome possible obstacles to the initiative, considered "a lifeline for Sharm El-Sheikh". Even the Minister of Civil Aviation Fathy Sherif underlined how the campaign helps to restore tourist flows, and has invited, writes the Egyptian newspaper, the national company EgyptAir to support Preatoni, "offering the necessary facilities to Sharm El-Sheikh".

"The lives of thousands of workers in Sharm El-Sheikh and millions of Egyptians will be able to change if Preatoni's initiative is successful", commented the Daily News Egypt, highlighting how Preatoni "also announced further strong investments" in area.
