Seed&Chips, Milan capital of Food

From 6 to 9 May, Milan will be at the center of the debate on the future of food, with two international events held simultaneously at the Rho Fair: the Global Food Innovation Summit in which Obama and Tuttofood participated.

After fashion and design, Milan is increasingly the international capital of food. And above all of sustainable food. Two major events are arriving at the Fiera di Rho from 6 to 9 May at the same time: Tuttofood, the international B2B fair dedicated to food & beverage, an event dedicated exclusively to business, therefore an opportunity to shake hands (read economic agreements), make public relations and presenting new products and marketing. On the other hand, innovation and sustainability will be discussed again from 6 to 9 May and again at the Fiera di Rho, in the fifth edition of the Seeds&Chips, i.e. the Global Food Innovation Summit, an event ennobled a few years ago by the presence in the Lombard capital of the former president of the United States of America Barack Obama. This time the international speakers will be Alec Baldwin, Maria Helena Semedo, Olusegun Obasanjo, Rajiv Shah, Susan Rockefeller, Walter Robb and Rocky Dawuni. The theme of this edition is the future of food, with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals drawn up by the UN and Africa at the center of the debate. Young innovators from all over the planet will participate and the new "Sustain & Ability" platform will also be launched.

“I am extremely happy and proud to present this fifth edition – he commented Marco Gualtieri, president and founder of the prestigious Summit – we are aware that the major issues we deal with, from food to health, will be at the center of a global discussion, without age or geographical distinctions, of interest to more than 7 billion people. Young people and leaders from all over the world will discuss the future of food and therefore of the planet, in a now consolidated format, united by the objectives set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Furthermore, during the year we have done an extraordinary job in Africa, a magnificent territory that cannot and must not stay out of the debate on the future of food: Western economies and those of the African continent must interact to make the most of human potential of Africa, which is the youngest continent on the planet in terms of population age. We cannot talk about the future of food without having Africa sitting at the discussion table”.

As mentioned, one of the central themes will be Africa: an authoritative institutional representation of the African continent will participate both with a dedicated pavilion in the exhibition area and with a presence. Just as great attention will then be paid to the theme of the SDGs, fundamental objectives and goals of sustainable development to be implemented by 2030 to which an entire pavilion will be dedicated and numerous cooltural experiences and collateral debates. As per tradition, Seeds&Chips will also be a stage of honor for many very young innovators who will be actively involved in the rich Summit programme: they are the Teenovator (teen between 13 and 19 years old) and the Young pioneer (kids aged between 20 and 25), called from 5 continents who will introduce the thematic sections to bring their own revolutionary ideas to the attention of guests and the public.

Seeds&Chips will include within it a broad exhibition area with startups, companies, incubators and pavilions national with the best of innovations from: France, Holland, Israel, Australia, San Marino, Slovenia. The presence of Australia is particularly important as Seeds&Chips will debut with a local edition by 3 5 to September a Melbourne. This year the exhibition space will also become interactive: a Smart Home and Smart farm will allow you to try out the new technologies available to the home and farm of the future.
