In Rome, the strike involves employees of Atac, Cotral and associated companies. The strike was initially planned without guaranteed time slots, but they were later introduced to limit the inconvenience. During the strike, the public counter services and the Atac contact center will not be guaranteed. Ticket offices may also remain closed.
Milan
Atm has confirmed its participation in the strike, with the suspension of service from 8:45 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to the end of the day. The protest is motivated by the failure to renew the national contract of Autoferrotranvieri for the period 2024-2027.
Turin
In Turin, the transport company GTT has announced that the strike will be active on the entire urban and suburban network, with the following guaranteed time slots: from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 12:00 to 15:00. For the extra-urban service, the blockade will be suspended from 8:00 to 14:30.
Naples
The ANM announced that the strike will last from 3:01 on February 24 to 3:00 on February 25, with guaranteed periods in the morning and late afternoon. The Metro Line 1 will have the last guaranteed ride at 9:12 from Piscinola and at 9:07 from Garibaldi, with service resuming at 17:00.
The reasons for the protest
The unions have called a strike for protest against the lack of salary adjustment and Contractual conditions for the three-year period 2024-2026. Furthermore, the Unione Sindacale di Base (Usb) denounces the lack of safety in means of transport and calls for better maintenance conditions for trains, buses and stations. The demands also include a wage increase and a reduction in working hours to 32 hours per week with the same salary.
