General transport strike, disruptions in Rome and canceled flights

Transportation, schools, public offices. The general strike of all public and private sectors underway since this morning is creating inconvenience throughout Italy. The protest, in many cases, will last until midnight. A procession will also take place in Rome which will start from Piazza della Repubblica.

In transport, the 24-hour general strike called by CUB Trasporti, USB Lavoro Privato Lombardia, SGB, Al Cobas and Sol Cobas is also joined by a protest by Cobas and Usb which is creating many inconveniences in Naples. In fact, an access ramp to the motorway has been blocked in the Porto area of ​​the city. 

MILAN

In Milan, according to information from the local police, the subways operate regularly and, at the moment, there are no particular criticalities on the platforms and stops. Atm, the city's transport company, confirmed that “In Milan the service is continuing on all the underground lines. The traffic could slow down the circulation of the surface lines” and that “the agitation of the personnel of the surface and underground lines is allowed from 8:45 to 15 and from 18 at the end of the service”.

Roma

Greater inconvenience instead in Rome where Metro C is closed, while lines A and B travel with reduced service. In fact, the agitation involves the various sectors, including Atac, Rome Tpl and Cotral. The rain and some demonstrations also added to the inefficiencies on public transport, creating quite a few traffic problems. The Termini-Centocelle railway is also closed.

PLANES

Alitalia has canceled 127 flights, both domestic and international. The company also canceled 10 connections already yesterday and another 11 tomorrow and has activated an extraordinary plan which provides for the use of more capacious aircraft to rebook travelers involved in cancellations on the first available flights of the day. Alitalia therefore informs that "passengers involved in cancellations can check which flight they have been rebooked on by connecting to the website www.alitalia.com and entering their name, surname and booking code in the 'my flights' section on the home page . 

TRAINS

In rail transport, the strike began at 21pm yesterday and will end at 21pm today, Monday 11 October. Trenitalia e Italo have published the list of guaranteed trains, while in regional transport the guaranteed range goes from 6 to 9 and from 18 to 21.
