Petrol strike: petrol stations closed until Friday 8

The petrol station strike has been confirmed: on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November, until 6 in the morning on Friday 8, petrol stations will remain closed on roads and motorways throughout Italy, including night and self-service stations.

"Faced with the deafening silence of the Government and the indifference of the Mise - say the trade unions Faib Confesercenti, Fegica Cisl and Figisc/Anisa Confcommercio - the managers' organizations have been unable to do anything other than resort to general mobilization, which will culminate in the strike will begin at 06.00 on day 6 and will end at 06.00 on 8 November”.

The Government "chooses to marginalize our category - continues the note - also through the multiplication of tax obligations, as useless as they are expensive, without having the courage to get their hands on, reorganizing it, in that illegitimate contractual jungle from which they only take advantage subjects who, outside of all rules and, often from all legality, continue to hold hostage a sector that contributes around 40 billion a year to the state budget”.

The unions are asking managers to participate en masse in the strike "to try to reverse a trend which aims at the disappearance of the category: from electronic invoicing to the introduction of ISAs, which are heavily penalizing for fuel managers (who perceive a margin which does not exceed 2% of the price paid by motorists), to electronic cash registers for turnover of 2 euros per year, to the introduction of Transport Documents (Das) and methods of daily registration, in electronic format, to be digitized by hand: all useless fulfilments made to unload on the last link in the supply chain, the weakest, charges and costs and even penal measures for formal errors”.
