Salvatore Rossi, current President of Telecom Italia and former General Manager of the Bank of Italy, will be the coordinator of the commission which will have to draw up the new General Plan for transport and logistics. He was appointed by the Minister of Infrastructure, Enrico Giovannini.

The commission, whose members will work for free, will have to prepare within six months the programmatic document for the identification of priority infrastructures and mobility systems for the sustainable development of our country.

The Rossi commission will also have the task of indicating the strategic direction for the definition of the sectoral plans for the railways, for the port system, for integrated logistics and for cycling.

In his long career Rossi, just 73 years old, from Bari, with a degree in mathematics, had been part of the Group of Wise Men under the Presidency of the Republic of Giorgio Napolitano, which was to indicate the programmatic lines for a change in the country's economic and institutional policy.

In Telecom, after the recent appointment of the new CEO Pietro Labriola, the president Rossi maintains, among others, the important delegation of communication relating to the expression of interest of the American fund KKR on the largest Italian telephone company.
