The Covid-19 pandemic forces the Milan Furniture Fair to a new postponement. This time, however, the decision taken by the event committee does not concern the Milanese appointment, but the Salone event that should have been held in Shanghai, in China, between November 25 and 27 of this year.
Due to the difficulties related to the coronavirus (above all, the uncertainty on international flights, the mandatory quarantine and the suspension of visas for China), the committee has decided to postpone the Chinese Motor Show by a year, November 2021.
"A painful and inevitable decision that spurs us to be even more decisive and determined to consolidate the leadership of the Salone del Mobile brand as the reference fair for design in the world - commented Claudio Luti, president of the Milan Furniture Fair - The appointment it has only been postponed and the next few months will be marked by a restart, aware that all together, the event and the companies, we will continue to grow and support Made in Italy furniture in China and around the world”.
The company explains in a statement that the decision to postpone the event in Shanghai has been taken after careful analysis of the situation which made it known "the impossibility of organizing an edition of the event that fully complies with the quality standards that have distinguished it since its inception and have decreed its success of which we are all witnesses".
At this point, all energies are focused on promoting the 2021 edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, which will take place by 13 18 to April (also in the presence of the Chinese public). The appointment in the Land of the Dragon, however, will be seven months later.
We remind you that this year, again due to the pandemic, the 2020 edition of the Salone del Mobile was first postponed to June, then completely canceled for safety reasons. In 2021, the 60th anniversary of the event will be celebrated.
