Wild hearts is the theme of XXXIV edition of the Book Fair, which will see appointments, conversations, shows, readings, concerts in a renovated space and with a further expansion of the spaces of 10 thousand square meters, for a total of 110 thousand square meters in total of the exhibition surface.
Another novelty of the XXXIV edition will be the Writers' Forest created by Aboca Edizioni: a natural amphitheater of 200 square meters, made up of over 1000 trees, including plants and shrubs which in particular will be the reference to the initiatives of the Salone dedicated to nature and sustainability.
For the 2022 edition it will be offered inexternal area, we find SalTo Live, the stage for outdoor meetings, with appointments until the evening, including several meetings dedicated to podcasts with Amazon e Storielibere.fm, to audiobooks with Audible and the camper of Ticket To Read; and then again the Story Garden di middle chora, a public and shared sound garden where you can discover podcasts that talk about current events. The first edition of the Literary Soccer, a table football tournament for charity organized by Piedmontese Foundation for Cancer Research ONLUS. In addition, a space dedicated to reading the Tarocchi edited by The Scarabfinally, a collaboration with the Italian Tennis Federation, and to reaffirm the city's strong connection to the Nitto ATP Finals.
In the long list of programs that will take place there will be meetings and events dedicated to anniversaries of great relevance. In collaboration with Einaudi it will be celebrated Beppe Fenoglio one hundred years after birth; While Dacia Maraini will hold a lectio su Elsa Morante, ninety years after the birth of the Roman author, and will present her latest book dedicated to her friend Pier Paolo Pasolini whose birth centenary is celebrated this year. A panel moderated by Helena Janeczek on Giovanni Falcone, murdered 30 years ago, together with the magistrate Giancarlo Caselli, Don Luigi Ciotti, to the prosecutor of Palermo Marcia Sabella and to the writer Evelina Santangelo; Falcone will also be dedicated to two more meetings with Roberto Saviano and with Marcelle Padovani. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the publishing house Fanucci, which has given and gives so much to Italian science fiction, an event that makes use of the collaboration with Lucca Comics & Games: the presentation of Big Book of Science Fiction with the curator, Lavie Tidhar, with Francis Verso, the only Italian author in the anthology, and the illustrator Maurice Manzieri. It's still: Marsilius and Dehonian Editions Bologna they will celebrate 60 years of activity; Leading his 30s; Green Lion its 25, night time e Gallucci they turn 20 and then, ten years after his death, the Book Fair will celebrate Enzo Sellerio, publisher and founder of the publishing house that bears his name, as well as a great photographer and inventor of covers: an exhibition will offer a wide selection of shots chosen from his extraordinary reports. We will talk about Enzo Sellerio also through the long-awaited reprint of a pearl of its catalogue, Sicilian inventory. Finally, in collaboration with Tamu Edizioni and Meltemi Editore, a tribute and a passing of the baton: a few months after the death of bellhooks – feminist activist and writer, among the very few able to speak to different generations – authors and thinkers of different generations will tell about the impact of her influence on them; they will intervene Maria Nadotti, Daniela Brogi e Selam Tesfai.
