Sace: Iran, potential exports of 3 billion for Italian companies

Reaching an agreement on Iranian nuclear power could open up interesting opportunities for Italian companies. The withdrawal of the sanctions in force could in fact lead to an increase in Italian exports to the country of almost 3 billion euros over the next 4 years.

This was revealed by a study by Sace, which explains that although the tightening of sanctions which took place at the end of 2011 significantly reduced trade with our country and Iran, Italy remains one of the main trading partners of the eastern country. In any case, regaining the market shares lost in Iran will not be easy, considering that competitors such as China, India, Russia and Brazil have suffered much less constraints in recent years, gaining an important position within the country.

The sectors with the greatest opportunities to be seized will be oil & gas, automotive, defence, transport, real estate and more generally the construction-related sectors. Tehran also has a series of important competitive advantages but also a series of risks that Italian companies cannot and must not overlook, not least the system of sanctions which still remains in force.
