Scrapping ter: first deadline 2020 on the way

The first deadline of 2020 is coming for those who have joined the ter scrapping of tax bills. The last day to pay the third installment (the first and second are due on December 2nd) is February 28th. Then there will be a few months of respite: the next dates to mark on the calendar are May 31st, July 31st and November 30th.

WHAT IS TER SCRAPPING?

The scrapping ter makes it possible to extinguish the debts collected between 2000 January 31 and 2017 December XNUMX. No fines or default interest are paid. Not even the increases established by law are due on road fines.

TER SCRAPPING: HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY?

To find out how much you have to pay for each installment of the scrapping ter, just consult the "Communication of the sums due", i.e. the letter received from the Revenue-Collection Agency (in response to the application form) which also contained the bulletins of the installments based on the plan of chosen payment. Anyone who has lost it can request a copy through the website of the Revenue Agency, filling in the "Request communication" form and attaching a copy of an identification document. No pin and password needed. For taxpayers who have personal credentials, the fastest way is to download the document from the reserved area of the site.

TER SCRAPPING: HOW DO YOU PAY?

You can choose between different payment channels and tools:

  • bank (over the counter or via internet banking);
  • ATMs enabled for Cbill payment services;
  • current account debit using the form attached to the "Communication of sums due" (but the request to activate the service must be presented to the bank at least 20 days before the expiry of the installment);
  • Post office;
  • tobacconists belonging to Banca 5 SpA through the Sisal and Lottomatica circuits;
  • Revenue Agency-Collection (at the counter or on the internet portal);
  • the App Equiclick through the platform PagoPa.

It is also possible to offset trade receivables from the public administration.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I PAY LATE OR I MISS AN INSTALLMENT?

In the case of ter scrapping, paying attention to the dates is particularly important: anyone who misses a payment or pays even a single installment more than five days late loses all the benefits of scrapping. Furthermore, the Agency explains that "the folders or notices already admitted to the facilitated payment" cannot "be included again in a declaration of adhesion, because the request will not be accepted". In short, whoever wastes this opportunity will no longer be able to pay the debt in installments and the tax authorities "will have to resume recovery actions".
