Rome, Metro A closed for a month from Termini to Arco di Travertino

Bad news for the inhabitants of southern Rome and eastern Rome. Starting from 31 July and until 31 September, line A of the Rome underground, which connects the city from Battistini to Anagnina, will remain closed in the section that leads from Termini station to Arco di Travertino. The Vittorio Emanuele, Manzoni, San Giovanni, Re di Roma, Ponte Lungo, Furio Camillo and Colli Albani stations were therefore closed.

In order to reduce inconvenience, Ma4 shuttle buses have already been planned which will follow the same route as metro A and will make intermediate stops near the stations which will remain closed for over a month.

The decision was taken in order to carry out the works to complete the San Giovanni metro C station and the interchange node which, once open, will allow citizens to be able to "change lines" easily by going from A to C. In particular, communicates Atac through its website, "the activities that will take place include the dismantling of the underground metal bridges that have made it possible to build the under-crossing tunnel of the underground line A by the underground tunnel C. The partial interruption of the line is necessary to allow the performance of this activity in total safety and to carry out the subsequent tests".

The metro A service will not undergo any changes on the Termini-Battistini and vice versa and Arco di Travertino-Anagnina sections and vice versa.

The hours of service also remain the same. Both metro A and the shuttle buses that will connect the interrupted routes will be active from 5.30 to 23.30 (last runs at 1.30 on Friday and Saturday evenings). The N1 bus line will be in operation at night.
