After yesterday's turbulence, with the opposition of the Dem minority to article 4, the approval of the law reform of the Rai. In fact, the Senate floor expressed 142 votes in favour, 92 against and no abstentions. The next step for the bill will be in the House.
The text approved today in the Senate contains the government amendment which gives the next general manager, appointed with the Gasparri law, the powers envisaged for the managing director in the reform, starting from its entry into force.
It got the green light too the article 2, which contains new rules on the governance front, while on article 4, one of the fundamental cornerstones of the reform conceived by the executive, the Government was brought down by the Dem minority, which opposed the delegation to the executive for the revision of the license fee legislation.
The friendly fire of the Pd minority, with its 19 votes against, took on even more significance due to the fact that the government fell short on article 4 by just three votes. Maria Elena Boschi spoke for the Renzi executive: "Nothing serious, it has already happened, the fault of the absences and the text can be changed in the Chamber" declared the Minister for Reforms in the evening at the Rome Unity Party. But Boschi did not deny the existence of a problem: “Having a part of the Democratic Party that votes against the Democratic Party means having a part of the party more anchored to current logics that belong to the past than to Italy's interests. I was a minority, I supported different positions and in the Chamber I always voted as the Democratic Party asked me, this is the basis for being together ”.
After the approval, Boschi again expresses the executive's satisfaction: “I'm satisfied, it's an important first step. The work doesn't end there and there will probably be other changes to the House. But it's a first step and I'm satisfied."
