The Richard Ginori factory in Sesto Fiorentino will not disappear. After troubled months, the situation of the historic porcelain company seems to have found a definitive turning point.

In May 2013 Kering, the German group that controls Gucci, had purchased Richard Ginori's property for 13 million euros, which went bankrupt at the beginning of 2013. However, the issue of ownership of the land on which the factory stands, in the hands of up to now to a group of banks formed by Unicredit, Popolare di Vicenza, Bnl and doBank.

In the meeting chaired by the Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda, an agreement was reached between the banks, the manufacturing company controlled by Gucci and the liquidators of Richard Ginori Real Estate Spa.

The achievement of the agreement on the sale of the land was announced by the Tuscany Region in a note: “the agreement should be implemented by the end of the year with the transfer of ownership of the plant. Thus the foundations are laid for the strengthening of the presence of Richard Ginori in Sesto Fiorentino and for the overall relaunch of the company”.

Now the group will be able to plan the investments necessary for the future of Italian artistic ceramics.

"With this agreement, an important Made in Italy brand has been safeguarded and at the same time more than 200 jobs, professional and artistic skills of the highest level have been saved," Minister Calenda said in a statement.

The agreement was reached a few days after the acquisition of the Richard Ginori historical museum by the State, preventing its deterioration.

The unions are satisfied. “It is very important news on which we have been working for months – underline in a joint Cisl and CGIL note – We thank the Ginori workers who fought courageously with us, the institutions at all levels who worked in synergy for this solution. In fact, from today a new challenge opens up, the one linked to the match on the plan to relaunch Ginori and investments ".
