Good news for travelers and commuters. THE high-speed trains and regional trains they will return to normal circulation starting tomorrow, Wednesday 8 June. This afternoon, in fact, it was the Rome-Naples high-speed line has been reactivated four days after the accident caused by the derailment of the tail locomotive of a high-speed train near Roma Prenestina and which had led to the seizure of the plant by the judiciary.

Four nightmare days for travelers who have suffered heavy delays and cancellations which have caused serious inconvenience not only on the Rome-Naples line, but throughout Italy. 

"Over 70 technicians from Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Italiane Group) worked to renew approximately one kilometer and three hundred meters of track, replace 400 meters of technological cables and restore 150 meters of electric power line for the trains", RFI said in a Note.

“The restoration activities, completed in less than 48 hours, were able to take place in two steps: the first began on Sunday afternoon following the release from seizure of a part of the affected area; the second since yesterday evening when the Judicial Authority allowed the removal of the misdirected locomotive, thus also freeing up the tunnel”, continues the FS group company.

La circulation of high-speed trains it is already gradually improving this afternoon and should return to normal as early as tomorrow morning, Wednesday 9 June. This “will also allow for the improvement of the circulation of commuter trains on conventional lines. 
From tomorrow, in fact, it will resume normal train schedule both between Rome and Naples and in the railway junctions of the two cities.
