Restructuring Edison, Delmi board gives EdF the go-ahead: "Start over from the March pre-agreement"

The holding company 51% controlled by A2A (itself among the Italian shareholders of Edison) unanimously resolves on the sale option to the French group. President Baiguera: "Full confidence in Giuliano Zuccoli as negotiator with EdF". Thus the hypothesis of an Italian consortium vanishes.

Restructuring Edison, Delmi board gives EdF the go-ahead: "Start over from the March pre-agreement"

Even the Board of Delmi – holding 51% controlled by A2A, which brings together Edison's Italian shareholders – has given the definitive green light to the resumption of negotiations with EdF on the reorganization of Foro Buonaparte, starting from the pre-agreement signed last March.

“We have unanimously resolved on the continuation of the March option”. That's what he reported Franco Baiguera, president of Delmi, at the end of the Board meeting on the Edison dossier held today. Edison's Italian shareholders have therefore reached an agreement on the hypothesis of restarting from the unpacking of Edipower.

Edison it is currently controlled 61% by Transalpina di energia srl, 19% by Edf (Electricitè de France spa), 10% by Carlo Tassara and the remaining 9% by the market.

Edipower on the other hand, which concentrates the production plants, is half controlled by these shareholders (50% owned by Edison), then by A2A and Alpig with 20% each and finally by Iren, which holds 10%.

"We are all aligned - Baiguera said - in perfect coherence with the management and supervisory boards of A2A", leader of Edison's national shareholders. "From Iren there was no problem. A membership committee was held first." The utility partner of Edison and Edipower had in fact initially expressed dissatisfaction with the way the negotiations with Edf had been conducted.

Delmi, Baiguera added, “confirmed his trust in the president of the CDG of A2A Giuliano Zuccoli and general manager Renato Ravanelli as negotiators” with the French.

At the end of the meeting Marco Merler, CEO of Dolomites Energy, member of Delmi. “One of our objectives for the reorganization of Edison – she explained – remains that of acquiring 49 percent of Hydra from Edf”, a company which owns hydroelectric plants. To those who asked him if the company also expects cash compensation for the exit from the Buonaparte forum, she replied: "We'll see, for now it's premature to talk about it".
