Research and innovation: Mediocredito Centrale finances the South with 62 million euros

Investments with a high technological content, not yet completed, are eligible in the 12 areas of specialization indicated by the National Smart Specialization Strategy (aerospace, agri-food, blue growth, green chemistry, design, creativity and made in Italy, energy, smart factory, sustainable mobility , health, intelligent, safe and inclusive communities, technologies for living environments, technologies for cultural heritage), with a particular focus on the development of knowledge-intensive technologies (KETs).

Research and innovation: Mediocredito Centrale finances the South with 62 million euros

An extra gear to carry out Research and Innovation projects in the Southern regions. This is 62 million euro that Mediocredito Centrale, selected by the European Investment Bank (EIB) on the basis of its consolidated experience and acquired know-how, will be able to manage for the disbursement of medium-long term loans.

Investments with a high technological content, not yet completed, are eligible in the 12 areas of specialization indicated by the National Smart Specialization Strategy (aerospace, agri-food, blue growth, green chemistry, design, creativity and made in Italy, energy, smart factory, sustainable mobility , health, intelligent, safe and inclusive communities, technologies for living environments, technologies for cultural heritage), with a particular focus on the development of knowledge-intensive technologies (KETs).

Large companies, mid-caps, SMEs, universities and public and private research institutions can access funding. The conditions for financing are defined according to the creditworthiness of the project and/or beneficiary.

Bernardo Mattarella, Chief Executive Officer of Mediocredito Centrale underlines: "With this initiative, MCC not only confirms its commitment to support Research and Innovation projects, but launches, with the EIB, a decidedly innovative development project that will involve businesses, universities and research institutions in the South, increasingly protagonists of an aware and productive economic growth”.
