The turnout at 20,1 in Italy for the referendum was 12%. This can be seen from the website of the Ministry of the Interior. The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella voted for the constitutional referendum in Palermo. The head of state voted for polling station 535 of the "Piazzi" middle school, a short distance from the central via Libertà where Mattarella's residence is located.

Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, after about ten minutes in line, entered section number three and voted, greeting the president and the tellers and the many photographers and journalists present in the De Amicis school. Renzi arrived at the polling station accompanied by his wife and children.

"Well, now I'll think about it...", Renzi replied, smiling, to a lady who at the entrance to the De Amicis school where section 3 of Pontassieve is located, had asked him, also joking: "President, have you already decide how you vote?”. From seven o'clock this morning in front of the De Amicis school there were photographers and cameramen, including foreigners: among others, a Chinese crew, an English photographer and a German crew. Renzi, who arrived on foot with his family, greeted some people and also the journalists present from afar. No declarations, except for the curtain with the lady and a few selfies outside the polling station. "But how many are there?" smiled his wife Agnese Landini, as soon as she appeared at the door of the electoral section, inside which cameramen and photographers were crowded.

The polling stations for the constitutional referendum opened regularly at 7, with the "Provisions for overcoming equal bicameralism, reducing the number of parliamentarians, containing the operating costs of the institutions, suppressing the CNEL and revising the title V of Part II of the Constitution".

The electoral body, divided into 7.998 Municipalities and 61.551 electoral sections of the national territory, is equal to 46.714.950 voters, of which 22.465.280 men and 24.249.670 women. The counting of votes will begin on the same day today, immediately after the close of voting at 23pm.
