Inclusion income (Rei), from 1 January for 500 thousand families

Presented by Minister Poletti. The base involved is destined to expand in July 2018, when the Rei will affect 700 families. Up to 485 euros per month for families with minors, the disabled, the unemployed over 55s and women in advanced pregnancy.

From 1 January 2018, the Inclusion Income (Rei), the tool to combat poverty introduced by the government, will be active. It will initially target 500 families (1,8 million people). The number of families involved is expected to reach 700 by July 2018.

The Rei was presented on Monday morning by the Minister of Labor Giuliano Poletti. "An epochal turning point for the country", according to INPS president Tito Boeri.

The measure is aimed at families with minors, the disabled, women in advanced pregnancy and the over 55s who are unemployed. The ceiling is fixed at 485 euros per month, 5824,80 per year. The recipients are households that meet the following requirements:

  • Isee less than 6 thousand euros
  • Value of the real estate assets (other than the residential house) not exceeding 20 thousand euros
  • Value of movable assets not exceeding 6 thousand euros.

The threshold can rise by 2 euros for each member of the family following the first, up to a maximum of 10 euros. Applications can be sent starting December 1st.

As early as January 2018, 2018, however, changes envisaged by the budget law will be introduced which will widen the audience of possible beneficiaries. The most important change will take effect from XNUMX July XNUMX, when all family requirements will cease: at that point the program will be based exclusively on income, becoming universal and the audience of potential beneficiaries will expand.
