RCS flies to the Stock Exchange after Mondadori offer

The markets appreciate the non-binding expression of interest that the Fininvest stable group presented for the acquisition of Rcs Libri.

A day of shopping in Piazza Affari on the Rcs share, which by mid-morning gained more than three percentage points, to 1,284 euros, achieving one of the best increases on the Milan Stock Exchange. Over the past month, shares have gained more than 40 percentage points.

The market shows that it appreciates the move by Mondadori, which sent a letter to the Rcs MediaGroup board of directors non-binding expression of interest for the acquisition of Rcs Books and of the further set of assets and activities that make up the group's book area. The news was announced by the two companies at the request of Consob.

Yesterday some sources quoted by the Reuters agency had spoken of "shipped negotiations", adding that a possible agreement could be found in the fork between 120 and 150 million euros.

Stefano Vulpiani of Icbpi sees an "important strategic value" for Mondadori from the possible aggregation with Rcs Libri.
