The project for the new one was presented this morning in the Sala Reale of Milan Central station FS Security Academy, the FS Group company that deals with safety at the station and on board of trains. This is an Academy aimed at training highly specialized professional figures in security in the railway sector hosted in the buildings of the Milan Rogoredo station.
The presentation was attended by the deputy prime minister and minister of Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini, Attilio Fontana, president of the Lombardy region, Giuseppe Sala, mayor of Milan, Luigi Ferraris, CEO of the FS Italiane Group, Pietro Foroni, CEO of FS Security.
On the Fs Security academy, whose activation is scheduled for 2026, the planned investment is 7,6 million of Euro. The academy spaces will occupy an area of approximately 1.000 square meters on five floors, 11 training classrooms will be built with a total capacity of 200 seats.
A new iron-rubber-sea synergy
The group also announced a Thursday new iron-rubber-sea synergy which leaves from the province of Arezzo for the transport of large concrete products.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Baraclit group, the Logistics Hub of the Fs Group and the Grendi Group, for the first time in Italy concrete products they travel first by train, then by national maritime transport to Sardinia and finally with a last mile truck delivery. A combination of transport modes which optimizes yield and minimizes environmental impact as much as possible.
The concrete products, produced by Baraclit in its factory in Bibbiena (AR), are in fact loaded onto the train directly at the factory and, thanks to Mercitalia Rail, reach the port of Marina di Carrara. A mode that allows you to get off the roads of Tuscany 600 trucks and, according to the calculation estimates of the Logistics Centre, avoid the emission of approximately 210 tonnes of CO2 compared to transport by heavy vehicle on the road.
The load, positioned on special boxes, is loaded by Grendi onto its ship bound for Cagliari where the material, once disembarked, is stored and, finally, transferred onto trucks for the last kilometres, reaching the final destination of Elmas for the construction of a shopping center.
